A first groom is training, not styling. We keep the visit short: a warm bath, a gentle dry, nails, and a light face and paw trim, with plenty of pauses so the puppy meets the table, the water, and the clipper noise without being overwhelmed. The goal is a puppy who walks in happily at visit two.
The best window is soon after your vet finishes the puppy vaccine series, while new experiences still feel normal. Book the first visit before the coat actually needs work; a puppy who learns the routine at four months will stand politely for haircuts for the rest of their life. Bring their favorite treats and we will use them shamelessly.
