De-shedding is a bath built around the undercoat: a shampoo that loosens dead fur, a high-velocity dry that blows most of it free, then a careful rake-through until the comb comes out clean. It removes the loose coat that was headed for your floor without cutting or shaving anything.
Double-coated breeds blow their coat hardest in spring and fall, and that is when a treatment makes the biggest difference. One visit will not stop shedding forever, nothing does, but owners usually notice far less hair in the house for several weeks after. We do not shave double coats down; stripping the guard hairs does lasting damage, and we would rather tell you that up front.
